Regalo Coronados Breaks Maiden In Mike Hastings Memorial Stakes

PHOENIX, AZ—FEBRUARY 125, 2021—Regalo Coronados held off AJs On Time by a neck in the $12,500 Mike Hastings Memorial Stakes (not black type) to break his maiden Friday afternoon at Turf Paradise.

Under jockey Christian Ramos, Regalo Coronados completed the 350 yards in a quick :17.555 clocking, earning a 103 speed index into a 12 mph headwind. Picking up $7,363 for his first win in three career starts, the son of last year's leading third-crop sire Coronado Cartel has banked $8,553.

Trainer Ivan Tofya owns-and-trains the Missouri-bred 3-year-old from the Dashing Val mare Dianes Easter Gift. Patrick Easter is the breeder.

Stakes-placed Ajs On Time earned $2,375 for his second-place effort. Jesus Olivas-Valenzuela named Hector Aldrete to ride the son of leading sire Apollitical Jess for owner Ricardo Ramirez. Runner-up in the Fiesta Futurity at Albuquerque Downs last fall, Ajs On Time was bred in Idaho by Spackman Racing from the Corona Cartel mare Coronation Time. He has earned $73,963.

CC Revv Her, under jockey Emilio Tapia, finished half-a-length back for owner Jose Aguilar Mendoza and trainer Eloy Navarro. Paragon Farms, LLC bred the stakes winning son of Corona Cartel in Texas from the First Down Dash mare Revv It Up. Winner of the Albuquerque Juvenile Stakes on Bank of America Challenge Championship Night last fall, Cc Revv Her has earned $25,257 in seven career starts.

Deal A Corona, Tres A Jess, Rite Here, Turbulent Kisses, Charlies Fast Man, Kenny Wayne and Phantom Righter completed the field.
