Grade 3 Winner Im A Fancee Chik Fastest In Prairie Meadows Gold Derby Trials On Sunday
Multiple graded stakes winner Im A Fancee Chik, under champion jockey James Flores, drives fastest qualifying time from four trials Sunday for the $102,925 Prairie Meadows Gold Derby.

Grade 3 Winner Im A Fancee Chik Fastest In Prairie Meadows Gold Derby Trials On Sunday

ALTOONA, IA—JUNE 26, 2022—Coming off a win in the restricted Grade 3 Jack Brooks Stakes on May 21st at Remington Park, Im A Fancee Chik rolled to a one-length win on Sunday while setting the fastest time for the Prairie Meadows Gold Derby at Prairie Meadows.

The 10 fastest qualifiers will return to the Iowa raceway on Sunday July 10th to vie for the winner's share of $102,925 purse going 350 yards.

Under champion jockey James Flores, Im A Fancee Chik kicked clear of the field while completing her task in :17.432 seconds, a 101 speed index with a 5 mph tailwind. It was the sixth career win for the multiple stakes winning daughter of Im A Fancy Pyc.

Trainer Clinton Crawford saddled the Oklahoma homebred for owners Danny and Dennis Salisbury. Danny bred the gray filly from the Smoke Glacken (TB) mare Dixie Marrone (TB).

Winner of the FL Lady Bug Stakes(G3) and the Laico Bird Stakes(G3) at 2, Im A Fancee Chik has compiled a (14) 6-3-1 record and banked more than $169,800.

Crawford also qualified 6th fastest Takin Jacque.

Bradbury Racing's Nothin Like You was a one-length winner in the in the third trial to secure the second fastest time of :17.512 seconds, a 98 speed index with a 5 mph tailwind. John Hammes conditions the Favorite Cartel gelding out of Whos Kissin Carter by Carters Cartel.

Winner of last year's Valley Junction Futurity(G3), Nothin Like You was bred in Colorado by Thomas Bradbury and Lis Beauprez. He has won four of nine starts and earned $119,243.

Bradbury Racing and John Hammes' Iza Good Guy won the second trial, under jockey Stormy Smith, to get the third fastest time of :17.566 seconds, a 96 speed index. Also trained by Hammes, the stakes-placed son of leading third-crop sire Jess Good Cany has earned $61,423 in nine starts.

The Colorado home-bred was fourth in the Grade 2 Heritage Place Derby in last start May 28th at Remington Park. Iza Good Guy is out of the Mr Jess Perry mare Iza Doll Face.

Trainer Stacy Charette Hill led all trainers with four qualifiers including 4th fastest Early Surprise, 5th fastest Jess Give Mea Reason, 7th fastest Curls Ivory Princess and 10th fastest Letyourliteshineonus.
