Cantinera Fastest Qualifier In Ron Cook Wyoming Bred Futurity Trials

EVANSTON, WY–JUNE 3, 2023–Cantinera, a daughter of multiple stakes sire Pappasito, broke her maiden in impressive fashion on Saturday when she rolled to a 3-1/4 length win to set the fastest qualifying time for the Ron Cook Wyoming Bred Futurity.

The 10 fastest qualifiers will return to Evanston race track on Saturday, June 17 to vie for the winner's share of $50,000-est. purse going 330 yards.

Under jockey Jesus Canales, Cantinera completed the course in :17.011 seconds and 87 speed index into a 15 mph crosswind to establish top qualifying mark.

Trainer Sergio Canales conditions the bay filly for owner-breeder Pedro Mena. Bred in Wyoming from the Ivory James mare James Diva, Cantinera was a finalist $53,322 Beehive Futurity in her last start on April 30. She has earned $4,218 in three starts.

Kdb Dynasty broke his maiden at first asking today when he was a neck winner over Ivorybudsnblossoms in the fourth trial. Under jockey Jesus Valenzuela the son of multiple stakes sire Jr Dynasty Mountain clocked the 330 yards in :17.018, also an 87 speed index into a 15 mph crosswind.

Kylie Valenzuela trains the brown gelding for owners Dustin Stanger and Kurt Stanger. Ron and Laurie Moosman bred Kdb Dynasty from the Maknmoves mare Steffies Dashn Moves.
