Jazzing Dynasty Surprises In $40,176 UQRA Maiden Frolic, Gets First Career Win

OGDEN, UT–APRIL 21, 2024–Bouncing off a third-place effort and the eighth fastest qualifying time in her last start on April 7, Jazzing Dynasty flew for her first career win Sunday afternoon in the $40,176 UQRA Maiden Frolic (not black type) at Weber Downs.

Under jockey Julian Zavala, Jazzing Dynasty completed the 330-yard course in :16.681 seconds, equaling a 99-speed index with a 5 mph tailwind, posting a winning margin of 1-3/4 lengths. It was the first career win for the Jr Dynasty Mountain 3-year-old in seven starts.

Owned and trained by Wes Kellett, Jazzing Dynasty was bred in Utah by Ross Herrick from the Jazzing Hi mare Jazzing Jenna.

Second in the Malad Futurity last season, Jazzing Dynasty used today's winner's purse valued at $16,873 to increase her earnings total to $23,399.

The fastest qualifier, Cold Iron, put in a late bid under jockey Eric Ayala to finish second and pick up $6,829 for the effort. A homebred for owner-trainer and breeder Gary Chambers Cold Iron was making only her second career start. The daughter of Daguerre is out of Sheza Vita Secret by We Have A Secret. In career debut, the April 7 Maiden Frolic trians, Cold Iron won by 1-3/4 lengths.

Jc Unstopable Spirit finished a half-length back under jockey Luis Cortez to earn $4,821 for third. Trainer Chris Mitchell conditions the Five Bar Cartel filly out of Jc A Special Spirit by Special Leader. The Utah 4-year-old homebred races for owner-breeder Magdalene Cummings.

Bnb Hasta La Luna, Mv First Down Glock, Im Apollitcal Two, Dynastys Classic, Grandmasshotingstar, and Apollitical Paris completed the field. Her Fancy Tail was scratched.
