Unseen Nme Destroys Field In Maiden Win, Sets Top Mark Night 1 of TQHA Sale Futurity Trials

SELMA, TX—JULY 21, 2023—In his third career start Unseen Nme destroyed the field by 4-1/2 length in his maiden victory while posting the fasting qualifying time on the first of two nights of trials for the $700,000 TQHA Sale Futurity(RG1) at Retama Park.

Tonight's five qualifiers will face off against the five fastest from Saturday's (July 22) seven trial races on Saturday, August 5th in the richest TQHA Sale Futurity in history. The lucky winner take home $311,388.

Under jockey Jose Herbert, Unseen Nme led wire-to-wire while completing the 350 yards in :17621 seconds, a 104 speed index into a 6 mph headwind, to establish Friday's top mark.

Racing for owner Carlos Ponce and trained by Juan Diaz, Jr., Unseen Nme sold in the 2023 TQHA Sale for $26,000 under the name Kirklyns Big Smooch.  Unseen Nme is a half-brother to Pitre GMC Distaff Stakes winner Jessapollitical Girl, and Adequan Sam Houston Derby Challenge runner-up Revenant Dynasty.

Windy Acres Stables bred the Kiss My Hocks gelding from the FDD Dynasty mare Kirklyns Dynasty. This is the family of Heritage Place Futurity(G1) winner Jet Black Grace.

Sam Houston Juvenile winner Dollar Bill, also ridden by Jose Herbert and trained by Diaz, was a 1-1/2 length winner in the second trial to get the second fastest clocking of :17.638 seconds, a 103 speed index into a 9 mph headwind.

Celeste Martinez owns the $39,000 TQHA Sale graduate by leading sire Kiss My Hocks from the Pyc Paint Your Wagon mare Jakes Painted Wagon. Bred by Tyler and Naia Graham, Dollar Bill has won four of five starts and earned $85,293 this season. His only loss was a second-place effort in the Grade 2 Louisiana Downs Futurity.

Diaz got his third qualifier on the night when Gotagogh, a $150,000 TQHA Sale graduate, was a 2-1/4 length winner in the third trial.  Jockey Juan Pulido had the riding call for owner Triple Five on the Favorite Cartel colt out of Signs Zoomer by Shazoom.

Bred by AQHA Racing champion breeder Bobby D. Cox, Gotagogh is a half-brother to champion The Fiscal Cliff and stakes winners Wagon Tales and The Polar Vortex.  Gotagogh has won three of four starts and earned $55,528. He was fourth in the Grade 2 Sam Houston Futurity in his last start, June 3.

Hollywoode, another Bobby D. Cox bred gelding, finished second to second fastest qualifier Dollar Bill in the second trial to post the fourth fastest time of :17.826 seconds, a 97 speed index.  The son of first-crop sire Hawkeye races for owner Leobersi Perez and is trained by Leonel Hernandez.

Rivera Hernandez had the riding call on the gray colt out of Sam Houston Distaff stakes winner Thriving Ivory by Ivory James. He sold for $33,000 at the 2022 TQHA Yearling Sale. Making only his second career start the Hollywoode is from the immediate family of Remington Park Oklahoma Bred Futurity(RG1) winner San Lorenzo Tay.

Chilitas, a $148,000 TQHA Yearling Sale graduate, won the sixth trial by 1-1/2 lengths to secure the final spot on Friday. Under jockey Ali Rivera, the daughter of leading sire Apollitical Jess clocked :17.949 seconds, a 93 speed index into a 5 mph headwind.

Trainer Alvin Francis, Jr. conditions the bay filly for owner J and J Sone, Co., Inc.

Omar Paredes bred Chilitas from the Game Patriot mare Mary Me Anna, a stakes-placed half-sister to two-time champion Kiss My Hocks. Chilitas is a sister to Dash For Cash Futurity(G2) winner Chilitos.
