Nbc Mr Booz, under jockey Rene Hernandez, breaks his maiden in the $30,000 Louisiana Juvenile at Delta Downs Saturday.

VINTON, LA–JULY 13, 2024–Nbc Mr Booz picked the perfect time to break his maiden on Saturday when he defeated Xdw Jess A Rogue by a neck at 44-1 odds in the $30,000 Louisiana Juvenile at Delta Downs.

It was speed all the way under jockey Rene Hernandez as Nbc Mr Booz clocked 17.712 seconds over a muddy (sealed) racing surface to equal a 90-speed index.  It was the first win five starts for the son of world champion sire Freighttrain B.

Trainer Noe Sanchez conditions the $30,000 LQHBA Yearling Sale Graduate for owner 3L Horse Ranch.  The $45,000 Juvenile winner's purse swelled his bankroll to $47,270.

"When we bought her, I sent her to Oklahoma with a friend. He was very gentle and does what you want," Arnold Pena said. "He's paid into the LA Million and Sale Futurity in New Orleans." He added "We just try to win some money to buy more horses."

Neal Cormier bred Nbc Mr Booz from the Mr Jess Perry mare Swinin Miss Jess. He returned $89.80 to win, $24.80 to place and $15.20 to show.

Game late, Xdw Jess A Rogue earned $15,000 for finishing second. Jasiel Aquino had the riding call on the Heza Fast Rogue gelding for owner Rene Adan Rodriguez and trainer Guillermo Martinez.  XDW Holdings LLC bred the bay gelding from the Too Tough To Catch mare Scatchmeifyoucandarlin.

San Lorenzo Tempted finished three-quarters back to earn $8,250 for third. Jeremy Derozin trains the homebred son of multiple stakes sire FDD Going Grand for owner-breeder Rogelio Marquez, Jr. Martin Osuna had the riding call on the bay out of Tempted Seis by Tempting Dash.

Tac It Blood, Gran Corazon, Thetrainrobbersace, Tc Scootin Aces, and Always Me completed the field.
