OKLAHOMA CITY, SEPTEMBER 18, 2025–Longtime trainer Mike Joiner paid $175,000 for Thursday's session 2 sale-topper, Hip 265 AJ Supreme on Thursday at the 47th Annual Heritage Place Yearling Sale in Oklahoma City.

"The second session concluded with an average price on horses sold of $32,481, up slightly compared to Wednesday's opening session," Heritage Place General Manager Spence Kidney said. "Today’s session produced nine horses selling for $100,000 or more, compared to the same day in 2024 that produced 20 horses over the $100,000 mark. The median remains at $22,000, and 86% of the horses offered have been sold through session 2."

The sale company reported 387 of 447 offered through session two sold for gross receipts of $12,405,700, a $32,056 average and $22,000 median.

Ranch El Cabresto consigned the Thursday sale-topping son of leading sire Apollitical Jess from the first foals from Mardi Gras Futurity(RG2) winner Hh Gailforce, by Freighttrain B. This is the family of champion Open Me A Corona.

LA Racing Stables LC paid $165,000 for Thursday's co-second high-seller, Hip 467 Mo Town Cartel, a colt by leading sire Favorite Cartel from the Heritage Place Futurity(G1) winner Uptowne Babe by Mr Jess Perry. Jordan Wiggins, Agent for Sam Green, consigned the half-brother to G3-placed Fast Flyer 123.

Marty Powers, Agent consigned Thursday's co-second high-seller, Hip 429 Hardtokiss, a colt by leading sire Kiss My Hocks. Daniel Miranda also paid $165,000 for colt out of the stakes winning Foose mare Hardtoget. Hardtokiss is a half-brother to three black type include Southwest Juvenile Championship(G2) winner Flying Rabbit 123 and Rainbow Juvenile winner Hard To Politic.

Through two sessions, Equestix Consulting LLC is the leading buyer with 10 purchases totaling $443,000. LA Racing Stables LLC has seven head for $332,000, and Oziel Cantu Gallegos purchased three head for $305,000.

Ranch El Cabresto, Inc., was the leading consignor or agent through two sessions, with eight yearlings grossing $715,000. Dunn Ranch, the Agent, sold 31 heads for $662,000, and Marty Power, the Agent, had 10 heads for $604,500.

Favorite Cartel is the leading sale wire (by average, two or more sold) through two sessions, with nine head for $84,556. Apollitical Jess has 20 yearlings for $71,150, and Kiss My Hocks has sold 25, for an average of $60,480. Golden Boi is the leading first-crop sale sire with seven head averaging $34,143.

Friday’s (Sept 19) session will begin at 10:000 a.m. (CDT), offering breedings to leading sires Dulce Sin Tacha, Flying Cowboy 123, and Kiss My Hocks, benefitting the Ruidoso Racing Foundation. Session three, showcasing Hips 506 through 757, will immediately follow.

After the day’s sale concludes, OQHRA, the OKC Convention & Visitors Bureau, and AQHA will sponsor live music by Genevieve Frances Bailey.

Saturday (Sept 20), beginning at 10:00 a.m. (CDT), will feature breedings to leading sires Uncle D and Cyber Monday, benefitting the Ruidoso Racing Foundation, and then session four, highlighting Hips 758 through 1009.

Heritage Place will again offer online bidding so that horsemen and women who can't attend can view the sale live through an online webcast. Prospective online bidders must register by 5:00 p.m. (CDT) Tuesday, September 19. For online bidding instructions, CLICK HERE.

Prospective Buyers who have not been previously approved by Heritage Place and wish to write a personal or business check must complete the buyer registration form and obtain a letter from the issuing bank prior to the start of the sale.

Any buyer registrations received after 5:00 p.m. (CDT) September 16 for the Quarter Horse Yearling Sale will not be approved for check writing.

Anyone not approved can make payment with United States currency, money order, or credit card.
