Wanna Be Fierce Runs Away with All Breed Hook Stakes at Great Falls

GREAT FALLS, MT—AUGUST 1, 2021—Wanna Be Fierce gained the lead in the stretch and won by two lengths in the $4,600 All Breed Hook Stakes (not black-type) at Great Falls on Sunday afternoon.

Wanna Be Fierce ($3.40) and jockey Fernando Gamez earned a 103 speed index as they covered 660 yards in :34.335.

Clifton Dennis owns and trains the 9-year-old gelding. Connie Buttice bred the son of Fastnfierce in Oregon, out of A Special Review, by Little Bit Dimmer.

Wanna Be Fierce is now 16 for 63 lifetime with $48,055 earned in his career. He debuted as a 3-year-old at Portland Meadows and has enjoyed a competitive career with starts at 15 different tracks throughout the Pacific Northwest and Intermountain region.

A Seperate Secret was second with Taylor Smith aboard for trainer Nathaniel Birdrattler and owner Lydia Tatsey. Bred in Texas by Sanford & White, A Seperate Secret is a 7-year-old gelded son of Separatist, out of Keeper Secret, by Excellent Secret.

A Seperate Secret has earned $17,538 in his 26 career starts. He spent much of his early career in Texas before moving to New Mexico, where he competed in the Downs at Albuquerque Distance Challenge Stakes (G2) last August.

Completing the trifecta was Stupendous 109 and Richard Birdrattler. Jess Meineke trains for owner Wayne Hall.

Stupendous 109 is an Alberta-bred son of Azoom, bred by Buckey and Beverly Stockwell out of the Royal Quick Dash mare Shawnee Royale. The 7-year-old gelding has made just under $10,000 in 19 career starts, most of which came in his native Alberta. Sunday was his best effort in a stakes race.

Miss Photo completed the field. Between the Buoys and Man Camp were scratched.
