PEDIGREE
D-1) Im A Fancy Pyc - Qualifying time: :21.337

Race Record: The most experienced and most accomplished of the qualifiers on the first day of trials, Im A Fancy PYC started with four consecutive victories but came into the trials off a troubled trip in the $1,020,980 Heritage Place Futurity (G1) on May 31 at Remington Park. Bumped at the break by the horse to his left, the colt finished 2 1/4 lengths off the pace in seventh but was moved up to sixth on the disqualification of Apolitical Pac.

Im A Fancy PYC broke his maiden in his first out, on March 7 at Remington Park. Two starts later, on April 19, he won the $791,000 Remington Park Oklahoma Bred Derby (RG3).

A $50,000 supplemental nominee to enter the trials, Im A Fancy PYC rolled to a 4-length devastation of his rivals in the 11th trial. His time of :21.337 was nearly the fastest qualifying time.

Im A Fancy PYC will not contest the final of the All American Futurity due to injury. The Pyc Paint Your Wagon colt has been retired and will stand his first season at Dr. Joe Carter's Oklahoma Equine Reproductive Center in 2015 (see related story).

Im A Fancy PYC is one of 58 stakes winners by major winner PYC Paint Your Wagon, an earner of $889,581 that in Grade 1 races scored in the Texas Classic Futurity, Texas Classic Derby and Heritage Place Derby, and also was second in the Rainbow Futurity and The Championship At Sunland Park. PYC Paint Your Wagon is by Corona Cartel, the all-time second-leading sire and all-time leading living sire, and is out of Dashin Follies, a Strawfly Special mare whose dam is world champion Dashing Folly. From 553 starters in five crops raced, PYC Paint Your Wagon has sired 330 winners and the earners of more than $15.4 million.

Im A Fancy PYC is one of five winners from nine starters out of the winning Mr Jess Perry mare First Prize Fancy ($3,343), who has produced the earners of more than $585,000, including the stakes-placed PYC First Prize Fany ($92,303). First Prize Fancy is one of 27 winners from 34 starters out of 2006 broodmare of the year First Prize Dash, who is a full sister to world champion and all-time leading sire First Down Dash and has produced six stakes winners and the earners of more than $2,39 million.

Im A Fancy PYC is bred by Weetona Stanley and William Smith of Madill, Oklahoma. Stanley is the widow of A.F. Stanley Jr., who in partnership with B.F. Phillips Jr. bred world champion and all-time leading sire First Down Dash. Since 2009, the Stanley/Smith partnership has bred five stakes winners, eight other winners and the earners of more than $1.8 million from 21 starters. Among those winners are Coronado Cartel ($415,728) and Denver Pass ($120,994), full brothers by Corona Cartel out of Heritage Place Futurity (G1) winner First Carolina, who Stanley bred in her own name and raced in partnership with Smith.
